Open Door: Chloe Hadded reflects on her year after the mentorship

During the summer of 2020, I had the pleasure of taking part in Latch’s first ever mentorship scheme. Throughout the experience I gained a great deal of knowledge and skills, as I was given a huge insight into many aspects of the music industry through inspiring webinars, stimulating tasks and amazing mentoring by the wonderful team at Latch. As well as everything I learnt during my time on the mentorship, I was able to meet lots of other budding music industry enthusiasts, many of whom I still speak to regularly and have built a lovely support network with!

A year on from the mentorship, I am now working as a Music Publicist and Music Writer and loving every minute of it. I have been able to put into practise many things I learnt from the mentorship and continue to keep in touch with the team. We still have occasional one-on-one catch ups and I also work closely with some members of the team in my current role. I am very grateful for all of the advice and guidance the team have given me over this past year and I appreciate them selflessly giving up their time and being so supportive both during and after the mentorship. The scheme enabled me to network and gain knowledge, within the area of the music industry I work in now (PR), and also other areas including Sync and Radio Plugging.

I think it is really valuable to have that general awareness of all parts of the industry. I honestly couldn’t recommend the Latch mentorship more, it gave me an amazing platform and I’m sure the new Latch mentees will love the experience just as much as I did and benefit from all the invaluable mentoring and expert knowledge.
